Willoughby's education included Hamilton College (undergraduate) and Columbia University (masters) - he was connected with International Selling Corporation, New York City. Virginia m. (2) William Karl Dick and (3) Frederick Strong Moseley (as his 2nd wife). She was a prominent interior decorator who also designed furniture for Frank Lloyd Wright and Henredon, among others. She graduated from the Paris (France) School of Fine and Applied Arts 9 May 1931 and also attended its New York City branch. She also attended The University of Akron (where she was a Kappa Kappa Gamma), the Cleveland Institute of Art and the Parsons School of Design in New York.
In 1939 she did a house for Wannamaker's at the New York World's Fair, and in 1940 exhibited a room of her own company at the same fair. In May, 1940, GO, a magazine for New York visitors, profiled her and reported that "Ginni" is 5'6", slim, blue-eyed and attractive. And that she loves "golf, opera, philharmonic, fishing, swimming and walking her Keeshund, Meisje, through the park." She was often featured in "House and Garden" magazine - the August, 1936 issue shows photos of her own apartment (p. 74), the June, 1938 issue contains a multi-page layout and article about her work, the March, 1943 shows her dining room at One Beekman Place and the May, 1944 shows her bedroom at Allen Winden Farm, Islip, NY.

[59619] Evelyn's obituary: "Presque Isle and Penobscot - Evelyn Colson Kierstead Snell, 96, wife of the late Floyd E. Snell, departed this life Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007, at Harbor Home, York Harbor. Evelyn was born Aug. 4, 1911, in Winterport, the daughter of Richmond and Alvie (Colson) Kierstead. Evelyn held many positions throughout her life, including several years in Westfield, as town clerk and as postmaster. She had previously worked in Presque Isle in the insurance and accounting agencies. Evelyn's work career included assistant to the librarian at Maine Maritime Academy, Castine, for many years. Evelyn led an active life of faith in the Baptist churches in Westfield, Blue Hill and Presque Isle, much of that time in leadership roles. Evelyn was a lifelong member of Maine granges, including those in both Presque Isle and Castine. For many years she was a member of the Rebeccas. Evelyn was an avid reader, letter writer and encourager. She was devoted to family and friends. Evelyn is survived by a daughter, Judith Farley and her husband, Francis Farley, of Thomaston; two sons, Lawrence Snell and wife, Gail Snell, of Hampton, N.H., and The Rotonda, Fla., and Ronald Snell of Denver; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Austin Snell of Penobscot, wife of son, Roy, who predeceased her. Evelyn is survived by five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A graveside service for Mrs. Snell will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 31, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Winterport."

"Bangor Daily News [ Bangor, Maine], 25 Septembr 2008": Cherryfield and Bucksport - Walter Rayford Leach, 96, passed away July 17, 2007, at Narraguagus Bay Health Care Facility, Milbridge, after a brief illness. He was born Jan. 24, 1911, in Penobscot, the son of the late W. Scott Leach and Mercy (Torrey) Leach. Walter grew up on a farm and worked on the farm milking cows, cutting hay, and raking blueberries. He graduated from Clark High School, Penobscot, in 1928. In 1932, he graduated from the University of Maine in Orono and received his masters degree in education in 1959. Walter served as principal and worked as basketball and baseball coach at Clark High School, Penobscot; Milbridge High School; Potter Academy, Sebago; and Corrina Union Academy. He also served as principal at Calais Memorial High School. Walter served as superintendent of schools at Union 40, which included New Sharon. He also served as superintendent in Sullivan. During the summer breaks from teaching and serving as principal, Walter worked for Jasper Wyman and Sons as a tester of products and supervisor of the factory during the summers. After his retirement from education in 1969, he worked at a vegetable and berry farm in Bucksport during the summer and also worked at H&R Block doing taxes from 1970 to 1988. While in education, he belonged to several organizations including the Executive Committee Association, Maine Principals Association, and National Education Association, where he served as a delegate to conventions in Boston, Atlantic City, Chicago, and Seattle. Walter was also a Mason since 1938 and a past member of the Farmington Rotary Club. Walter married his first wife, Madeline Pearl Scott, in 1934. Madeline passed away in 1967. He married Georgie (Gross) Chasse, in 1968. Georgie passed away in 1986. Walter was also predeceased by a son, Arlyn Leach, in 1998; a brother, Arthur Leach; and a sister, Rilla Moore. He is survived by a son, Wayne R. Leach and wife, Pauline, of Winslow; stepsons, Fred and wife, Mickey Chasse, of South Bristol, John Chasse and wife, Marilee, of Virginia, and Robert Chasse and wife, Earline, of Bucksport; longtime companion, Lorena Colbeth of Cherryfield; her son, Fulton Colbeth and wife, Nedra, of Cherryfield; Arlyns wife, Elizabeth Leach, of New Hampshire; grandchildren, Craig Leach, Clark Leach, Christopher Leach, Nathan Leach, Kenneth Leach, David Leach, Kimberly Colbeth, Kathy Colbeth, Thomas Colbeth, Anthony Small, and Timothy Small; many great-grand-children, nieces and nephews.
