Hammond, passed away peacefully March 31, 2019, at her home with friends and family at her side. She was born May 13, 1942, in Bucksport, the daughter of Arthur and Arlene (Goode) Staples. She is survived by her two loving daughters, Katherine Urquhart and her husband, Douglas, and Joyce Hammond; grandchildren, Douglas Jr., Steven, and Jennifer Urquhart, and Abigail Sampson; great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Erik, Devin, Ian, and Piper; great-great granddaughter, Stephanie Sophia; brothers, Kenneth and Mary Goode, Allen and Mary Staples, and Harvey and Norma Staples; sister, Kathleen Linscott; sisters-in-law, Karen Staples and Eleanor Rhodes; and many much loved nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband; parents; brothers, Arthur and Ross Staples; brother-in-law, William Hammond; and sister-in-law, Linda Montgomery. She is survived by many special friends especially Jeanne Smith who was with her until the end. She enjoyed playing Beano, cards, and traveling."
