[23802] Winifred is author of "Backroads: Maine Narratives, With Lyrics" (Boston, MA: B. J. Brinner Co., n.d.) - a flyer introducing this volume states "Winifred Virginia Jackson was born in the Williams Settlement, Township 33, at the head of the Union River, thirty-odd miles from Bangor, Maine. On the maternal side she is a descendant of the Williams and Archer families, the latter family coming down from Robert Archer, who accompanied William the Conqueror into England. On the Williams side she is of the blood of Oliver Cromwell, whose great-grandfather's name was Richard Williams, which he changed to Cromwell to inherit an estate. ... She is sister of Ralph Temple Jackson, a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, class of '05, and a well-known Boston architect...."
