[883] Thomas deposed 30 March 1658 that he was then about 54 years old. He was probably among the founders on Gloucester on Cape Ann. He resided near the meeting house there, adjoining the pastor's lot. In Sept., 1647 Thomas acquired three acres of marsh along the south side of Little River. He probably arrived in America about 1640 from the west of England (or Wales), perhaps with the party of his neighbor, the Rev. Richard Blinman. His estate inventory lists a small fortune for his time: 133 pounds and 5 shillings, including "books" at 10 shillings - indicating a literate and successful man. {See "Seven Generations of Bray," William M. [5328] Richard III was King of England for two years, from 1483 until his death in 1485 in the Battle of Bosworth Field. He was the last king of the House of York and the last of the Plantagenet dynasty. His defeat at Bosworth Field, the last decisive battle of the Wars of the Roses, symbolism the end of the Middle Ages in England. He is the subject of the play Richard III by William Shakespeare. A news report 23 May 2014: "The High Court has ruled that the University of Leicester has the right to bury King Richard III's remains in the city's cathedral. The King's remains were discovered buried under a council car park in Leicester in 2012. Relatives of King Richard III won the right to bring High Court proceedings to challenge where his remains should be buried, but now a judicial review has ruled that the King's remains will be reburied in Leicester."
