[61161] The unverified file LYNF-MD9 in familysearch.org offers: "When Claude E Lamoreau was born on 25 August 1932, in Easton Station, Easton, Aroostook, Maine, United States, his father, Herman George Lamoreaux, was 36 and his mother, Florence Marie Flewelling, was 31. He married Marilyn A Osgood on 27 October 1951, in Maine, United States. He lived in Easton Grant, Easton, Aroostook, Maine, United States in 1950 and Easton, Aroostook, Maine, United States for about 54 years. He died on 30 July 2019, in Presque Isle, Aroostook, Maine, United States, at the age of 86, and was buried in Estes Park Cemetery, Easton, Aroostook, Maine, United States." "The Bangor Daily News [Bangoir, Maine]," 2 August 2019: "Presque Isle and Easton, Maine - Claude E. Lamoreau, 86, passed away at the Aroostook House of Comfort, Tuesday, July 30, 2019. He was born August 25, 1932 the son of the late Herman G. Lamoreau and Florence M. (Flewelling) Lamoreau. Claude attended the Easton School System graduating in 1950. He was a 12 year member of the Army National Guard, attaining the rank of Sgt. He married the love of his life Marilyn (Osgood) Lamoreau in 1951. Together, they farmed potatoes in Easton for nearly 40 years. In their last 10 years of farming they were awarded the McCain's Champion Grower Award for their quality crops. Yet, Claude, always humbly, said, 'I'm just a simple farmer'. Claude and Mary also loved antiques and operated the Country Meadow Antique Shop for 20 years. After retiring they moved to Pine St. in Presque Isle, where they completely renovated their retirement home. One of the mutual joys they shared was renovating and decorating homes. They personally built a special get-away log cabin in the backyard, and even purchased the home next door to bring it back to its original glory. Claude and Mary were inseparable and enjoyed many trips to the coast of Maine, one special vacation was taking the train from coast to coast across Canada, another trip was to Europe sponsored by McCain's honoring them for being good partners in potato production. Claude is survived by brother, Ray Lamoreau and wife Georgene, Sister-in-law Esther Allen and husband William, all of Presque Isle, Sister-in-law Barbara Farrington of Hampden and Sister-in-law Jean Lamoreau of Easton. He had many nieces and nephews. Claude had a very special place in his heart for his nieces Rebecca Griffeth and Rayle Ainsworth, a nephew Alonzo Osgood, and long-time friend, Craig Green, who in the past few months provided special care to him in both Yarmouth and Presque Isle, and made sure his final time was comfortable and in the company of a loving family. He was predeceased by Herman and Florence, his parents, his wife of 63 years, Marilyn, sister Dolly Reed and brother Merle Lamoreau."
