Until a very short time before her death, Mrs. Foster had enjoyed her usual good health, she then began to fail, but without suffering and quietly passed into a coma, from which she did not rally. She was born 10-7-1829 the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ansel Ames of Readfield. At the age of 20 she married Charles Hubbard Foster and came with him to Aroostook in 1858. They had 7 children, 3 of whom survive, Mrs. Elden Taylor and Harry Foster of Presque Isle and Mrs. Guilford Dudley of Winthrop, 37 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren. Burial Fairmount cemetery.

It is possible that he was buried here, on the 600 acres of land his first cousin, John Gee, was awarded for his Revolutionary War service, as the Virgil Rural Cemetery was not yet in use. William Gee's wife was Elanah ('Helena') Parlman Gee."
