[7791] Annie m. Feb. 9, 1882 Eugene G. Showvaker (1875-1928, son of Jacob R. Showvaker and Anna Elizabeth Bradfield). Eugene farmed and then entered the grocery store business at New Germantown and later in Harrisburg, "The Perry County Times, 3 December 1942," p. 12: "Mrs. Annie J. Showvakcr, widow of Eugene G. Showvaker, former residents of Perry county, died at the home of her nephew and niece, Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Kistler, in Harrisburg, on Saturday, November 28, 1942. She was 82 years old. Mrs. Showvaker was a daughter of Jacob and Sarah (Snyder) Rickard, residents of Loysville for many years. She and Mr. Showvaker were married February 9, 1882. For several years they conducted a grocery store in New Gerniantown, but in 1885 they went to farming in Pleasant Valley, near Mannsville, and later moved to Harrisburg, where they conducted a grocery store. Mr. Showvaker died some years ago. Mrs. Showvaker is survived by one brother, James C. Rickard, Esq., of Blain, and one sister, Mrs. Frank P. Lightner, of Loysville. Mr. Harry C. Showvaker, of Bloomfield, is a brother-in-law of the deceased. Mrs. Showvaker was a good woman of lovely character and her death is mourned by all who knew her. Funeral services were held in Harrisburg Tuesday and burial was made beside her husband's grave in the New Bloomfield cemetery."
