[52833] "Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]." 24 October 2021: "Lincoln and Bangor - Karen Edgecomb Hurd passed away on October 22, 2021. She was born May 5, 1950, in Lincoln, ME, to Donald and Argie (Graves) Edgecomb. Karen was both doted on and lovingly tortured by her two older brothers, Robert Michael and David Peter Edgecomb. She graduated from Mattanawcook Academy in 1968, and from the University of Maine at Orono with a B.S. in biochemistry in 1972. Karen married her high school sweetheart, Carroll Ray Hurd, on July 1, 1972. He has always been the love of her life. She worked for more than 30 years in the Lincoln office of Dr. Emilio Ocana, whom she considered to be family. She loved being able to help people, especially at times when they most needed support. When Emilio retired, she worked for Boreas Family Medicine in Lincoln and then Downeast Orthopedics in Bangor. Her true life's work was her family. Together Karen and Carroll have two children, Carrie Donne (Hurd) Enos and her husband, Michael Clay Enos, of Bangor and Christopher Michael and his wife, Kristin (Villard) Hurd, of Hermon. She is survived by them and by her grandchildren, Elodie and Emmeline (Emme) Enos and Kylie Hurd; as well as her extended family. She was predeceased by both of her brothers; and her parents when they were far too young, and she became all that much closer to her extended family as a result. She enjoyed her role of carrying a whistle and clipboard to family reunions at Sleepytown in Wells, ME, and loved hearing stories retold year after year by her aunts and uncle. Those gatherings created a sense of belonging and certainly helped to fill a void left by losing all her immediate family in such a short period of time. Her inner strength, capacity for love, and emphasis on the importance of family will not be forgotten. Karen took pleasure in the very simplest things in life. Her grandchildren were her treasures. She enjoyed summers at camp, the beauty of nature, and the joys of the holiday season. We will miss receiving her texts to 'Look out the window - quick!' at the most beautiful sunsets, so we will remember her in those moments instead. We will think of her when the girls make up a silly song the way that she used to, when we read the many notes of encouragement she left us over the years, when we hang our Christmas stockings and remember the way her beautiful brown eyes would shine in anticipation of the season, and when we take our first boat ride next summer and feel the wind in our hair. She will live on when we see the bright, twinkling stars and hear the familiar cries of the loons over the Big Narrows. Karen, Mom and Grammy: We know that you are up there dancing the Cold Stream Hop with the Aunties and Eileen Back. Mammy, Bampy, Bob-o and Dave will finally be able to wrap their arms around their sweet Karen again, and boy are we jealous. We will bake your quiche on Christmas and your chocolate trifle just for fun. We will save front row seats for you at our daughters' graduations and weddings, because we know you wouldn't want to miss those most of all, and we will never, ever forget the love you showed us every day. With much love forever, Us."

[9861] Maria m. 2-June-1754 John Kloss (b. 1723 in Brechkebel, Hanau, Germany; d. 21 Sep 1795). Six of their ten children survived their parents and had issue. Maria was baptised in Little Tulpehocken Lutheran Church about two miles south of Bernville (now Christ Lutheran Church) and her sponsors are George Graf, Jr. and Maria Barbara Zerbe.
