[2167] Virginia Horler comments: "George Percy Palmer had a laundry route similar to his brother, Howard, confirmed by the 1930 Census. He also worked as bookkeeper, travel agent, and clerk. He was not a veteranof military service. He married a Hawaiian woman who had a daughter of her own. They had no children together. George P. Palmer must have been the uncle that Ken Palmer remembers who coached him on a youth baseball team. On 12 Sep 1918 George Percy Palmer registered for the draft in the US Military. He stated that his name was George Percy Palmer, resided at 559-34th Street in Oakland with his wife, Ida Aldephina Palmer. He worked as a ship fitter's helper in the Bethlehem Shipyard in Alameda. He was of medium height and weight, and had blue eyes and brown hair. (4-1-6 order A623). He married Ida Aldephina Chandler, married 1916, b. 1887 in California, buried in NOT at Mt. View Cemetery, Oakland. Ida: Ida had been married before and had two daughters, Ida and Nelda."
