[17696] John Adam was on the tax rolls for Berks County 1788-89 and listed in the 1800 and 1810 Berks County census. Excerpted from a record in file of Francis Shade, author unknown: "According to Family information it is believed that John Adam b 1766 had three children; John b.1787, Jacob b. 1787 and a daughter b.1790. Not enough proof has been found so far to definitely confirm this but we are sure that these three are descendants of one of Andreas' sons. Census record confirm that John Adam had had a son b.1787, and an unrecrorded deed confirms that Jacob was a son of John Adam Shade, and census records show at least one daughter. Because the birthdates of John Adam's sons John and Jacob are just 3 days apart it is likely that they were twins."
