He was the husband of Sylvia (Lagasse) Hutchins, his wife of 45 years. He was born in Medford, son of the late George and Annie (Hudson) Hutchins, and lived in Lynnfield for 43 years. He was a graduate of Lynn schools and School of Engineering. Mr. Hutchins was chief engineer at Union Hospital, Lynn, where he worked for 42 years. He retired in 1990. He was a member of the Wakefield Retired Club and a collector at St. Jean Baptiste Church, Lynn. In World War II he was in the Navy serving on the USS Princeton. Mr. Hutchins also leaves a daughter, Martha Waldo of North Reading; a brother, Robert Flynn of Revere; a sister, Mary Lewis of Lynn; a grandson and several nieces and nephews"
