A file in Ancestry.com in 2014 offers: "Thomas sometimes lived in Allington in South Stoneham and then at Swaythling in North Stoneham. He was the lessee of the Swaythling Farm in 1608 & 1609. He surrendered Middlestreet and Hole Farms in Bishopstoke to his son Stephen in 1625.
His son Richard settled rent charge of 40 shillings per annum out of his Bishopstoke lands for use of the parish for ever in 1631. Made first visit to America in 1632 on the Whale. Emigrated to New England on the Bevis (with Stephen and Alice Archer and his niece, Joane) in 1638. On subsequent visit to England he proved the will of niece Joane (daughter of Thomas and Susanna Dummer nee Neve). Was granted a tract of land at Newbury, Mass. (USA) by the General Court of the colony, which ordered that "a convenient quantity of land be set out within the bounds of Newbury for the keeping of cattle that came over in the Dutch ships this, and to belong to the owners of the said cattle." This estate was subsequently passed to his son Jeremiah. Richard died in 1679. Married Mary Fowle of Tawton Barne at Broughton on 22 July 1623. He also married Mrs Francis Burr. Richard was ancestor of most of the Dummers of America.
His son John succeeded to his father's estate at Swaythling where he lived until his death. John held lands and leases in Swaythling, Poliats in South Stoneham and Bauden's Land in Allington, South Stoneham. John made bequests to the poor in South and North Stoneham. He married the daughter of Sir Thomas Fleming. He was bondsman to Richard at the latters marriage.

[46202] "Mount Union Times [Mount Union, Pennsylvania], 13 November 1914," p. 5: "Mrs. Jane Ann Stitt, the widow of Mark Campbell Stitt, was born Nov. 4, 1840; and died last Friday evening, Nov. 6th, 1914, at 7:15 p. m., aged 74 years and 2 days. On going about her evening work, about five o'clock, she suddenly sank into her daughter's arms, surviving the stroke but a couple of hours, not rallying sufficiently to speak. She had just said 'It is time to do the evening work,' one daughter had just left her side, when the other with her noticed her about to fall and caught her. Her husband died March 26th, 1913. He was an elder of the Shade Gap Presbyterian Church. They were very good people who will be greatly missed. Mrs. Stitt spent her entire life on the spot where she was born. Her father was Wm. Campbell Fleming, who with his family resided on this same farm three miles South of Neelytown, Pa. Mr. and Mrs. Stitt had a long married life and always lived on this old Fleming Homestead farm. Their daughters, Lizzie, Bell and Eva remained with them, devoted to their welfare. Mrs. Stitt is survived by three other children, Blair H. Stitt of near Gettysburg, Mrs. J. Martin Peterson of Honey Grove, Pa., and Wm. F. Stitt, of Altoona. there are a number of grandchildren."
