[54715] James' obituary: "Stonington - James E. Bray, 83, passed away October 18, 2022, from complications from a heart attack following declining health over the last couple of years. He was born in Stonington, May 30, 1939, the son of Lawrence and Rose (Blastow) Bray. He grew up in Stonington and graduated from high school in 1957. He then went to Augusta to school to become a CPA. He joined the Army Reserves and served for 17 years. He later worked in a mental institution for a couple of years and then worked as a bookkeeper for a trucking company in Skowhegan for a few years. James moved back to Stonington in the 70s and established his CPA business. He belonged to the American Legion and IOOF for many years. James was always an independent and outgoing person. He loved to talk and catch upon all the news around town. He also liked jigsaw puzzles and playing Skip-Bo. He is survived by his sister, Annie Cassidy, St. Albans; brother, Junior and wife Joyce, Stonington; brothers-in-law, Stanley Joyce, Deer Isle and Lindon Eaton, New Palt, NY; also, many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grand nephews; and many longtime friends. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Robert, and wife Barbara; sister, Mary and husband Roger Lee; sister, Laura Joyce; sister Lenora Burton; nephews, Lawrence Burton, Michael Cassidy and Brian Bray."

Wayne worked in the car dealership industry for 50 years, the majority of those years in Buxton, where he owned and operated his successful used car dealership, Wayne Joys Motor Car Company, with his brother Tim. He was a lifelong member of the Anah Shriners. He retired in Florida with Brenda and enjoyed Atlantic salmon fishing in his younger years, golf and being a ranger and starter at a local golf course. He was also a True Blue Yankees Fan. Above all, Wayne cherished his time spent with Brenda Mae. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Brenda Joy; his son and daughter-in-law Michael and Liane Joy of South Berwick; his daughter Tonya Joy of Gorham, Maine; his brother Timothy Joy and Bonnie Guerrette of Winter Harbor; his stepdaughter Lisa Wiles and Oliver Heinrich of Toronto, Canada; his stepdaughter Rhonda Leeman of Barre, Canada; his grandchildren Luke, Ethan, Lauren, Jesstine, Hannah, Hayden, Harry and Max; and his niece and nephew Kelly and Ryan; and great-grandson Odin."

He married Christina Minnick on March 13, 1821. They had 11 children in 17 years. He died on November 22, 1854, in Bern, Pennsylvania, at the age of 57, and was buried in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania."

[57378] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 20 Aprl 1965: "Isaac Edward Staples, 58, husband of Madeline (Renouf) Staples of 14 Elm Street, South Brewer, died at a local hospital following a long illness. He was born in Belmont, the son of Arthur, and Mabel (Whitehead) Staples. A graduate of the Bangor schools, he was employed for 41 years at the Eastern Corporation. He was a member of the Second Congregational Church of South Brewer. Survivors, besides his wife of South Brewer, are two daughters, Mrs. Richard Bredesen of Kansas City, Kansas, and Mrs. Lewis Giles of Hampden; three sons, Robert E. Staples of Ellsworth, Ralph L. Staples of Orono, Paul R. Staples of South Brewer; a brother, Arthur H. Staples of Rockland; two sisters, Mrs. Grace Tyrell of Bangor and Mrs. Fred Lincoln of Hartford, Conn.; four grandchildren; several nieces, and nephews."
