[46377] "News-Journal [Mansfield, Ohio], 6 October 1938," p. 8: "Shelby - Mrs. Thomas Wheeler, 62, died today at the home south of Shelby, following a lingering illness. Mrs. Wheeler is survived by her husband, three daughters, Elva, Eva and Elnora, all at home; two sons, Alfred at home and Glenn of Tiffin; one brother, William Gump at home, and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p. m. Saturday at the home with Rev. M. P. Paetznick, assistant pastor of the First Lutheran church, officiating. Burial will be made in Oakland cemetery."
[48601] Did she really live to be almost 100? She is said to be daughter of Jan Conrad Jansen (1700-1777) & Anna Maria Rittenhouse Papen (1700-1758,m . ca. 1735 in Germantown, Motgomery Co., PA).
[60519] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 3 July 2014: "Ashland and Presque Isle - Milford J. Letourneau, 89, died Monday, July 1, 2014 at Maine Veterans Home, Caribou, after a long illness. He was born October 22, 1924 in Ashland, a son of the late Peter and Almeda (Bell) Letourneau. Milford enlisted with the US Navy in 1942. He served as a seaman aboard a Landing Ship Transport during World War II Pacific Theater Operations and fought in the Battle of Leyte. He received his Honorable Discharge in 1946. Following his return to Ashland, he married Lillian Leach, together raising four children. He worked many years as a forester for local lumber and paper companies before his retirement in 1989. He was a skilled gardener and took great pride tending to his plants. Milford always had time to chat with the many people who stopped by to admire his garden, and he was always willing to share his bounties with friends, family and visitors. The family would like to extend their deep appreciation to Dr. Wood and Dr. Faloon for their many years of attentive care. He is survived by: his wife of 66 years, Lillian (Leach) Letourneau of Presque Isle; two sons, Terry Letourneau and Dale Letourneau, both of Ashland; a daughter, Susan Durrell of Ashland; five grandchildren, Kenny, David and Jennifer Letourneau, Wendy McKinney and Stacy Durrell; and several great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, Milford is predeceased by a son, Dennis Letourneau, six brothers and a sister. A graveside service with military honors will be at Ashland Municipal Cemetery."

[3032] Richard Óg de Burgh, 2nd Earl of Ulster, was Baron of Connaught and Trim.{-Carr P. Collins, "Royal Ancestors...," p.53} He commanded all the Irish forces in Ireland, Scotland, Wales and Gascoigne, founded the Carmelite monastery at Loughres, built the castles of Ballymote, Corran and Sligo, and retired to the monastery of Athassil. Richard "attacked the native king of Connaught in favour of that branch of the O'Conors whom his own family supported. He led his forces from Ireland to support Edward I in his Scottish campaigns, and on Edward Bruce's invasion of Ulster in 1315 Richard marched against him, but he had given his daughter Elizabeth in marriage to Robert Bruce, afterwards king of Scotland, about 1304. Occasionally summoned to English parliaments, he spent most of his 40 years of activity in Ireland, where he was the greatest noble of his day, usually fighting the natives or his Anglo-Norman rivals, the Geraldines. The patent roll of 1290 shows that in addition to his lands in Ulster, Connaught and Munster, he had held the Isle of Man, but had surrendered it to the king." {-Encycl.Brit.,'56,4:401} He probably is son of Avelina FitzJohn (rather than of Maud de Lacy), as reported in 2003 by http://www.mathematical.com/burghwalter1230.html - cf. http://www.thepeerage.com/p261.htm, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Og_de_Burgh,_2nd_Earl_of_Ulster and "Magna Carta Ancestry," Douglas Richardson (Baltimore: Genealogical Publishing Co.), p. 409..
