Blatt 64, of Fleetwood R.4, formerly of Kutztown, died Saturday in his home. He was the husband of Gloria M. (Dunkel) Blatt He was the owner of the Kutztown Diner for 40 years before retiring in 1987. Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Darius L. and Martha M. (Bright) Blatt He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Kutztown. He served with the Marines in World War II. Survivors: Wife; son Michael J. of Macungie; brothers D. Charles of Kutztown R.4, and Robert L. of Reading; sister Theresa, wife of Leo Heydt of Fleetwood R.1, and two grandchildren."

Her obituary: "Jean Marie (Chaffee) Johnson, 84, passed away Friday, September 4, 2020 at her son and daughter's-in-law home with family at her side. Jean was born in Calais on December 7, 1935, daughter of John Willard and Bernice (McKnight) Chaffee. ean graduated from Calais Memorial High School, Class of 1954. On April 7, 1955 she married Rosco Johnson and together they started JohnsonÂ’s Hardware Store, which she was actively involved in for over 50 years. In addition to her parents, John & Bernice, Jean was predeceased by a daughter, Cynthia Tinker; a son, John Johnson; her twin sister, Joan Yates; three brothers, Gerald Chaffee, Philip 'Bud' Chaffee and Ralph Chaffee and her sisters-in-law, Marice Chaffee and Barbara Chaffee. Surviving are two sons, Norman Johnson and his wife Michelle of Calais and David Johnson and his wife, Vera of Calais; grandchildren, Emily Prichett and her husband Scott, Jillian Johnson and Lainey Johnson; a brother, John Chaffee and many nieces, nephews and special friends. Jean loved to play bingo, go to the casinos, visit her home in Florida and above all, spend time with her friends and family. She was a member of the Congregational Church in Calais and the Pythian Sisters since 1958 and a long-time member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Sherman Brothers Unit 3, Eastern Star and the Rainbow Girls."
