"Reading Eagle", 23 April 2016, printed this obituary: "Michael Joseph Blatt, 66, died April 21 in Allentown. He was the son of the late Joseph and Gloria (Dunkel) Blatt.
Mike lived in Kutztown for most of his life and worked and volunteered in a number of locations including his parents business, The Kutztown Diner. Mike was a graduate of Kutztown Area High School, Class of 1967, and Allentown Barber College. He was a volunteer fire fighter, part time auxiliary police officer and long time employee of Kutztown Publishing Company. He also worked for a local dispatch service, Moyer Plumbing & Heating and Fitness by Ina. In his younger years, Mike played community baseball, softball and enjoyed hunting at his cabin near Wellsboro. An avid NASCAR fan, he worked on race cars with Freddie Adams and owned an Austin Healy convertible. Later, he enjoyed watching and talking about sports, especially the Phillies. His favorite destination was the beach and he loved to cruise and explore different islands. He was a fan of classic rock and often blasted music by the Eagles while working around the house. He enjoyed attending concerts and dining out. He was a member of St. Johns UCC in Kutztown, and was a devoted family man. People will remember him for his daily walks with his Golden Retrievers by his side.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Nolfe-Blatt, Reading; son, Scott, husband of Melissa, of Kempton; daughters, Wendy, partner of Todd Stewart, of Mohnton, Alexis, of Kutztown; grandchildren, Todd and Ever Stewart; nieces, Meredith and Hannah Schmoyer."
