[6352] The Billings family settled Sedgewick (then Brookville), Maine in 1762. John Billings and wife Hannah Farrar resided in the vicinity of the present-day Oakland House, and their children played with Native Americans along the shores of the Eggemoggin Reach. Albert's daughter, Louise, resided on a part of the original grant to the Billings family (which included the area of Walkers Pond and part of Sargentville). Picture shows Albert Francis Billings & wife Mabel with daughters Dorothy and Louise. Albert also served as a cook on steam-powered vessels. See "As I Recall," Sylvia Conner Wardwell (Sargentville, ME: 2012 - privately published), pp. 16ff.

[59884] Adaline is daughter of Elias Harmon (b. in 1781) & Abigail Harmon (b. in 1785; m. 7 January 1804 in Scarborough, Cumberland Co., ME).
[41885] "West Schuylkill Herald [Tower City, Pennsylvania], 10 December 1948," p. 1: " Charles G. Heckler, a lifelong resident of this valley, died at the Warne Hospital, Pottsville, Wednesday morning, after a short illness. He was admitted to the hospital on Sunday when his condition had taken a serious turn. Death was attributed to heart failure and other complications Had he lived until December 20th he would have reached his 75th birthday. Mr. Heckler was one of ten children born to William and Caroline (Kopp) Heckler. He was born at Orwin on December 20, 1873, but lived in Tower City almost all his life. He was employed by the P. and R. C. and I, Co. until his retirement when the East Brookside colliery was closed down about 1938. He had been a hoisting engineer at the shaft for many years. He was married to the former Mary Rabuck in September, 1899, and there were four children, two of whom preceeded him in death, Clarence, a well known organist and choir director, and Mrs. Beulah Seller. Two sons, Mark, with whom he resided, and Wilbur, who has been employed by the U. S. Geological survey for many years, and has been located at Tucson, Arizona since 1931. One brother, William Heckler, of Philadelphia, and one sister, Mrs. Nora Everson, of Camden, N. J., also survive. There are seven grandchildren. Mr. Heckler was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Tower City, and a regular attendant at church and Sunday school services. He also served several terms as a member of the church council. He was affiliated with Ashlar Lodge No. 570, Free and Accepted Masons, of Lykens, and Harrisburg Consistory, Orwin Gun Club, Knights of Pythias, Tower City and Muir Volunteer Fire Companies, and the Reinerton Local Union, United Mine Workers. He served as a trustee of the Knights of Pythias for the past fifteen years."
