Egeline was the daughter of Hugh de Courtenay Baron of Okehampton (1248-1291) and Eleanor le de (Spencer) de Scales (1262-1328). Egelina married Sir Knight Robert De Scales, V (1279-1325) in Okehampton, Devon, England in 1309. He was the son of Robert de Scales IV (1249-1305) and Isabel (Burnell) de Scales (1252-1333). Robert V and Egeline de Scales were the parents of the following known children: Robert VI, Eleanor Isabelle and Parnel de Scales. Baroness Egeline de Courtenay de Scales died on 10 Oct 1335 in Middleton, Norfolk, England. Her burial is unknown at this time. Egeline de Courtenay is mentioned in this book in Volume: 41 on page #494: "Families directly des. from all the royal fams. in Europe (495 to 1932)". By Mrs. Eliz. M. Leach Rixford.
