[31303] Richard arrived in New England in 1636. He m. in Springfield, MA 29 June 1643 Mary Winch (b. 1614 in Bocking, Co. Essex, England, d. 1682 in Dedham, MA). "New England Families, Genealogical and Memorial" by William Richard Cutter (1914) offers: "Richard Everett or Evred as the name was often spelled was born in England and came to this country it is believed with William Pynchon in whose employ he was for several years. He was one of the first settlers of Springfield in 1636 and August 16 1636 was one of the proprietors of Dedham, Massachusetts. He was a trader. He married June 29 1633 Mary Winch who came to New England at the age of fifteen in the ship Francis of Ipswich England in the family of Rowland Stebbins who settled at Dedham. Richard Everett was admitted to the Dedham church March 6 1646 and his children were baptized Alarch 13 1646. He was admitted a freeman May 6 1646. He was first on the tax list in 1648 and third in 1660 showing that he was a man of property. In 1650-51 he was highway surveyor, in 1650-51-52-53 constable, in 1650-51 selectman, and he served on many town committees. He died July 3 1682 and his will was dated May 12 1680."

Born Oct. 17, 1908, in Sugar Grove, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Vera (Hummel) Fisher. She married Claude Bedeaux, who preceded her in death in 1942. She married Dr. John J. Houtz in 1973. Mrs. Houtz was a, graduate of Selinsgrove High School and a 1927 graduate of Susquehanna University. She received her master of arts degree in 1932 from Pennsylvania State University. She was a teacher of Latin and social studies in Petersburg, Bradford and Selinsgrove. She was a member of Sharon Lutheran Church, Kappa Delta and Pi Gamma Mu sororities, all of Selinsgrove. She is survived by one daughter, Claudette Jobson of Winter Springs, Fla.; one sister, Bernice Olsen of Deltona, Fla.; three brothers, Charles Fisher of Selinsgrove, Paul of DeLand, Fla., and Father James of Grand Rapids, Mich. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth Smith, and one brother, Harold. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, Sherman and High streets, Selinsgrove, by the Rev. William S. Henderson. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Selinsgrove."

[9454] "The Perry County Times [New Bloomfield, PA] 5 January 1933," p. 8: "Mrs. Mary Ellen Morrow, wife of James Morrow, died at her home near Loysville, Tuesday about 5.30 p. m. of neuralgia of the heart, and influenza, having only been ill since Friday. She was a trained nurse and while serving in that capacity in a western hospital in her girlhood days, she suffered a heart attack which was followed by frequent attacks ever since. Mrs. Morrow was a daughter of Frank Swarner, deceased, and wife, Mrs. Laura Lightner Swarner, near Loysville. She was born at Landisburg on March 2, 1888 and at the time of death was aged 44 years, 10 months and one day. She was married to Mr. James Morrow, of near Loysville, at Harrisburg, December 28, 1915, by the Rev. A. M. Stamets, and their home has been the Swarner farm which Mr. Morrow now owns. Surviving the deceased are her husband, five children, Martha, James, Helen, Thomas and Joseph, at home, her mother, Mrs. Laura Swarner, a brother, John Swarner, near Loysville, and four sisters, Annie, Mrs. J. C. Albright, of Carlisle; Jane Swarner, Baltimore, Md. ; Florence, Mrs. J. H. Pollom, of Independence, la.; Sara, Mrs. L. H. Himes, of Bethlehem. Mrs. Morrow was a member of the Loysville Lutheran church and funeral services will be conducted at her late home Friday at 1.30 p. m. by her pastor, Rev. J. Grover C. Knipple. Interment will be in Restland Cemetery."
