Find A Grave memorial 38389406 offers his biography: "On Dec 13, 1815, he was ordered to Newport to be in command of shipbuilding at that place. He was commissioned a 2nd Mate on Feb 26, 1816. From February 1816 until Jan 2, 1823, he was in command of USRC Detector of Portland, ME. On Aug 27, 1825, he was ordered to superintend the building of two cutters at Portland. On Jun 27, 1829, the collector of customs at Portland recommended that all officers on Detector be removed. On Oct 12, 1829, Reuel Drinkwater was in command of USRC Detector. On Dec 24, 1829, the resignations of the officers on Detector were forwarded. Records show there were two cutters name Detector and that Reuel served in both."
