[50016] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 13 April 1942, pp. 1 & 15: "North Penobsot, April 12 - Mrs. Rachael A. Gray, daughter of a veteran of the War of 1812, died at her home here Saturday morning at the age of 105. Mrs. Gray, a native of Sedgwick, made her home at her farm here for the past 71 years, and in recent years her grandnephew and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Closson, have lived there with her. She remained active until a little over a year ago and when well past the century mark was able to take care of her own room, did much knitting and sewing, and often insisted upon helping with light household tasks. She was born Sept, 17. 1838. Her father, Nathan Closson, a veteran of the War of 1812, lived to be 88 years old. He entered the army at the age of 18 and was in the thick of the fighting in the Lake Erie section. When he failed to return to his home after the war he was given up for dead, and funeral services were held for him at Sedgwick, but a stranger who attended the services told Nathan's father, Joslah Closson, that he had heard the young man was alive and well and was employed in Connecticut. Josiah Closson went to Connecticut, where he found his son and brought him back to Sedgwick. Mrs Gray was one of seven children of Nathan and Mary Davis Closson. At the age of 16 she was married to Peter Gray. They had three children, of whom the only survivor is Velorus Gray, 84, who is now the oldest man in Penobscot. After the death of her first husband, Mrs. Gray married William Gray, who died a few years ago. Mrs. Gray, known to everyone in the community as 'Aunt Rachael,' was loved by all who knew her. She had a remarkable memory, and often told of incidents that happened in her childhood, and could remember some of the poems she learned in school. Surviving besides her son are five grandchildren, Nathan Gray of North Penobscot, Colby Gray of Castine, Mrs. Laura Staples of Blue Hill, Mrs. Alice Sawyer of Castine, and Ray Gray of Ellsworth Falls; 10 great-grandchlldren; and four great great-grandchildren, Colby and Lois Gray, children of Lester Gray of Bucksport, Howard Butler, son of Mrs. Franclne Butler, Ellsworth and Teddy Gray, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alton Gray, Blue Hill. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at the North Penobscot church and burial will be in Hillside cemetery."

Adam of Bremen records that the daughter of King Knud married 'imperator filio suo'. Her parentage is given by Orderic Vitalis, who also refers to her marriage. Wipo names 'Chnutonis regis Anglorum filiam, nomine Chunehildem' as wife of 'Heinricus rex, filius imperatoris' when recording their marriage in 1036. The Annalista Saxo records that the wife of King Heinrich III was 'filiam Cnud regis Danorum', specifying that the marriage was arranged by Unwan Archbishop of Bremen, although this seems unlikely as Archbishop Unwan died in 1029. Herimannus names 'Chunihildem, Cnutonis Danorum et Anglorum regis filiam' when recording her marriage to 'Heinricus rex, filius imperatoris' in 1036. She adopted the name Kunigund on her marriage. The Chronicle of Alberic de Trois-Fontaines records that 'uxor imperatoris Henrici Gunhildis imperatrix de Anglia' was accused of adultery, that she was defended in trial by combat, but that after her champion's victory she disdained the success and became a nun. William of Malmesbury also recounts that she was accused of adultery and retired to a convent. She died during her husband's expedition to Italy, the death of 'regina Conihild' being recorded in the Annalista Saxo 'XV Kal Aug'. m (Nijmegen [29] Jun 1036) as his first wife, Heinrich III King of Germany, Duke of Bavaria, son of Emperor Konrad II & his wife Gisela of Swabia (Ostrebeck 28 Oct 1017-Burg Bodfeld im Harz 5 Oct 1056, bur Speyer Cathedral). He was crowned Emperor at Rome 25 Dec 1046."

Find A Grave memorial 62248043 offers: "Born to Arthur Trumble and Rosa Jane Hood Tovrea in Sparta, Randolph Co., IL. He was a toddler when he moved with his parents to Sedgwick County, KS about 1875. He spent his childhood and youth there. About 1890 he moved to AZ with his older brother Edward Ambrose Tovrea and became involved in the meat industry and was branch manager for the E A Tovrea Company, Wholesale Butchers and Packers. He made many business trips to the Republic of Mexico to purchase cattle and trips to Guaymas to purchase fish for the Tovrea markets. He was a member of the Nogales Chamber of Commerce for many years and made trade excursions with them along the west coast of Mexico to encourage trade between the US and Mexico. In his later years he managed and operated the Tovrea Meat Market in Nogales, AZ. He died of chronic Bright's Disease. [Bio provided by Gladys Tovrea Brandstoettner.

NOGALES, Ariz., Jan. 18 - (AP) J. C. Tovrea, 70-year old brother of the late E. A. Tovrea, founder of Tovrea Packing Company, died at his Nogales residence today from an illness contracted last July. Settling in Arizona 52 years ago, Tovrea resided successively at Congress Junction, Phoenix and Prescott before coming to Nogales 27 years ago. He was a former member of the Nogales city council and school board. He was a charter member of the Nogales Elks club, former president of the local Rotary club and a member of Knights of Pythias. Tentative funeral arrangements have been made for his body to lie in state at the Arizona Mortuary here Wednesday and Thursday with services Friday and burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Tucson. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lotta R.; three sons, Harold C., Tucson; Corp. Maurice, Tucson, now stationed in Panama, and Lt.
