[57877] Frances is daughter of Bert Lee Jones (1878-1949) & Inez Marie Avery (1892-1987; m. 11 November 1911 in Dexter, Penobscot Co., ME). Frances' obituary: "Frances Natalie Jones Libby, born November 27, 1927 in Garland, Maine, died Monday, December 17, 2007 in Sun City, Arizona. She graduated high school from Foxcroft Academy, Dover-Foxcroft, Maine in 1946. She married Lincoln Libby of Garland in 1947, the mother of two Eagle Scout sons, Lincoln LeRoy Libby, Jr., now of Camano Island, Washington, with his wife, Barbara, and Dan Kevin Libby, now of King City with his wife, Ann. Fran was a Den Mother, Girl Scout leader and Den Mother Instructor for 7 years, President and Range master of the Glendora Gun Club, and a Hunter Safety Instructor for 5 years in Glendora, California, member of the Los Angeles Braille Transcriber's Guild, and of the National Honor Society at Monterey Peninsula College in Monterey, California. She worked as a pre-school teacher for 7 years, and a Housekeeping Supervisor at Rippling River, a handicapped housing complex in Carmel Valley, California for five years, and helped raised five foster boys. At the age of 55, adopted a son, Lance Llewellyn Libby, then 17 months old in February, 1994, and helped raise an adopted grandson, Andrew, for four years. She moved to Cave Creek, Arizona, in 1990 and joined the Sun City Genealogy Society, where she held office of Vice President, was a Salt Lake City genealogy director for two years. She was a Life member of the Libby Homestead Corporation through paternal 4th great grandmother Elizabeth Libby, and a member of the Mayflower Society through her mother, Inez Marie Avery Jones, to Richard Warren of the Mayflower. Fran was also a member of the Mayflower Society through her father, Bert Lee Jones, to Captain John Alden and William Mullirs. She was a member of the D.A.R. through Lieutenant Jacob Straw and several other Revolutionary War soldiers. She enjoyed working in wood, writing poems, fighting for causes, traveling and playing euphonium in the New Horizon's Band in Cave Creek, and the Sebasticook Valley Band in Newport, Maine, and the Community Band in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine. She was proud to be an active member of the PRIDES in Sun City, Arizona, and also a Deputy in The Sheriff's Posse of Sun City. Most of all, she was proud of all the many friends she had, and kept through the years. Any remembrances may be sent to the Avery-Jones Music Award she established for the 7th and 8th grade music students of the Dexter Middle School, of Dexter, Maine. Music students who have done the most to enjoy and to help others enjoy music."
