She was born to Allen L. and Gracie M. (Pickard) Arnold, in Newburgh, Maine, on February 1, 1932. She was born, raised, lived a long life and passed away on the same property in Newburgh, as was her wish. Donna was very musical, playing several instruments and she truly enjoyed old-time Country and Western music. She also enjoyed dancing, which brought joy to her heart through her feet. Donna worked manufacturing slippers with the Evans Shoe Company on Mayo Road in Hampden for 25 years. Donna enjoyed snowmobiling in her younger years and taking long drives as she aged. Donna and Mel shared their love of the outdoors with their children, taking them camping, fishing and hunting, and adventures they remember fondly to this day. Donna especially enjoyed gardening, tending flowers and harvesting vegetables. She was an excellent candle pin bowler, participating in many bowling leagues and winning several championships. Donna is survived by her brother, Charles Elwyn Arnold of Belvedere, North Carolina; children, Lawrence Nickerson and his wife, Deborah, of Newburgh, Maine, Sharon Filipowicz and her husband, Stephen, of Amarillo, Texas, Paula Frank and her partner, Wayne Gregory, of Belfast, Maine, Linda Leach and her husband, Tom, of Orland, Maine, and Joyce Deal and her husband, Jean, of Lincolnville, Maine; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two nieces. In addition to her parents, Donna was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Melville Nickerson. At Donna's request, services will be private. Her and Mel's interment will be at Locust Grove Cemetery, Hampden, in spring 2025."

Infirmities of old age were responsible for her death. Mrs. Briner came to Mansfield a week ago to visit with her granddaughter, but was taken seriously ill last Thursday and never recovered. She is 92 years of age, and had lived practically her entire life in Richland county, for many years her home in Shelby. Two sons: G. W. Briner and Conrad Briner, and a daughter, Mrs. Thomas Sharrock, of Shelby, survive her. [Mansfield News, 24 June 1919].

He was a founder of the prestigious law firm Scruggs & Carmichael, PA in 1944 in Gainesville, FL. The 1920 federal census in Jefferson Co., FL lists him age 21 in the household of Marrie [sic - should be Manie, his stepmother] C. Scruggs (age 35) with Willie Scruggs (age 26), Ruth Scruggs (23), Annie Scruggs (14), George S. Scruggs (11), Mary Scruggs (9) and Charles C. Graves (31, b. in GA) and Maggie Graves (20 (b. in GA).

Mace, 87, widow of Frank Mace, died here Saturday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wallace S. Houston, after a brief illness. She was born March 11, 1867 at Great Pond the daughter of Asa and Direxa Dunn Williams. Surviving are one son Bryan J. Mace of Bath; one daughter Mrs. Esther Houston of Milo; one sister Mrs. Nellie G. Haynes of Bangor; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins."
