[59114] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 13 April 2025: "Nellie Mae Emerson, 74, of Jonesport, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on April 4, 2025. She was born in Jonesport, Maine, on October 25, 1950, a daughter of Frank Ireland and Madie Seavey. She was raised in Florida. Nellie met her husband Larry after moving back to Jonesport and they were married on March 9, 1974. Nellie was quite the business woman. Together, she and Larry had several businesses, starting with Gray's Shellfish and Moosabec Video, both in Jonesport. After selling both places, they realized they missed being in business and so when the pizza place in town was listed for sale they started their next adventure together. To this day the Jonesport Pizza Shoppe is referred to as 'Nellie's' by many customers. Nellie loved her family and she gave endlessly to those that she loved. She is admired for many things, but especially for her strength. She survived many health issues through the years because of the love she had for her family. She will always live on through her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Larry Jr. and wife, Rhonda; her daughter, Farrah Emerson Alley; grandchildren, Larry III, Kianna, Kyle, Patrick, Kayla and Katlyne; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Osmond, and Olden; mother, Madie Seavey; brothers, Millard (Judy) Ireland, Doug (Nicole) Ireland, and Ken Ireland; sister, Millie Nash; as well as many nieces and nephews. Nellie has been reunited with the love of her life, Larry Emerson Sr. The two of them were best friends and were hardly ever apart. She is also predeceased by son-in-law, Corey Alley; and siblings, Vance Ireland and Grace Agayoff. Her family is very grateful for the exceptional care that she received in her final days and they will announce a graveside service for both Nellie and Larry at a future date."
