[56089] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 7 March 2024: "Corinth - Joseph K. Strout, 78, died March 1, 2024, following a long battle with COPD. He was born on July 26, 1945, in Corinth, to the late Clarence L and Edith M (Miner) Strout. Tuddy was a hard worker and good provider for his family all of his life. His love for cars, at a young age, lead him to treasure them as if collecting match box cars. He enjoyed being self-employed at various businesses: Used Cars and Auto Parts, Hay Service, Towing Service, and other various jobs - a jack-of-all-trades. He loved to 'dicker' for the best price. His persistence usually got him the deal he was looking for, as that is what made it desirable. Tuddy enjoyed fishing, especially in the Greenville area. He enjoyed demolition derbies, tractor pulls, auctions, and watching westerns. When he was young he raced and worked at Speedway 95, roller skating, and found his fair share of trouble. Most of all, he loved to spend time talking with family and friends (too many to list). And yes, he loved to talk. A person nearby was not a stranger for very long, he would eventually find a connection with them. He enjoyed being confused for Santa Clause by kids. He enjoyed doing what he could for others, providing them with food and such. He always rooted for and supported the underdog. Surviving in addition to his loving wife of 56 years, Doreen 'Dee Dee' (Richards) Strout, are his son, Joseph J. Strout of Corinth; daughter, Edith (Strout) Stinson and her husband, Skyland, of Corinth; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Tuddy was predeceased by sisters, Elizabeth Rogers and Marilyn Cote; daughter, Linda Lee Trafton; and special friend, Joe Eaton. Many special canines, especially Smiley."
