[51900] Esther is daughter of Lyman West Linscott (1905-1980) & Phyllis Margaret Brenton (1905-1994; m. 4 February 1924 in ME). "The Ellsworth American [Ellsworth Maine], 25 January 2018": "Ellsworth - Esther L. Closson passed peacefully on to glory on Jan. 16, 2018, surrounded by family at a Bangor hospital following a brief illness. Esther was born on Sept. 22, 1929, in Bar Harbor to Lyman and Phyllis (Brenton) Linscott, the fourth of six children. Esther attended Ellsworth schools, graduating with the Class of 1948. In Esthers yearbook, the quote by her picture stated, 'Esther, a housewife's sure to be'cause Luray has waited patiently,' and she married Luray Closson, the love of her life, on Aug. 7, 1949. They spent their lives together on Bayside Road raising their two children and numerous pets. Esther had a heart for animals, most recently dogs, Jingles and Gracie, and loved working in her gardens. She made many quilts over the years for family members, and in the past few years, she spent hours making pot holders for her family and friends. Esther spent many years working as a legal secretary for attorney Shirley Povich, and after his death, his son, Michael Povich, 'inherited' her and hired her in the District Attorneys Office, retiring in June 1995. Esther was an active member of United Baptist Church in Ellsworth, and a supporter of Baptist Youth Camp in Charlotte. Esther was predeceased by her husband, Luray, and her siblings, Beverly, Dick, Dot, Patricia and Leslie. She is survived by her daughter, Victoria; son and daughter-in-law, David and Dawn; a grandson who lived with Ray and Esther many years, Christopher, and his wife, Nena; granddaughters Sara Farnsworth, and her husband, Wayne; Michelle Begin, and her husband, Stephen; LaRae Iverson, and her husband, Dean. She is also survived by her nine great-grandchildren Chance and Logan; Hannah and Nathan; Joseph, Joshua, and Molly; Robin and Brielle; sister-in-law, Evelyn Linscott; a special brother-in-law and dearest friend, Ed Dewitt, and many nieces and nephews, and friends, some that she considered family"
[45243] Rith is the daughter of William Sawyer and Ruth Bitford.
