[5848] Robert m. Anna _____ - cf. Coffin Family Newsletter, 2/1985 (8907 Mohawk Lane, Bethesda, MD 20817-3519). He died 23 Jan 1612/13 in Brixton, according to http://www.weymouthtech.com/Genealogy/wc24/wc24_458.htm (not verified) which reports that his wife, Anna, d. 14 April 1626 in Brixton. In his will (proved in Jan 1216) he is "of Lower Harston within the parish of Brixton in the Countie of Devon, yeoman" and made a bequest "unto Joane my Daughter the Wyfe of Peter Cawfing" and "unto Tristram and Joane the children of Peter Cawfing." The surname Kember is from an occupation - "comber" (wool comber) - or from a locality (S. Kimber in Cornwall, England). See "The Descendants of Thomas Kimber...", Sidney Arthur Kimber (Cambridge, MA: 1923) for a further discussion of the possible origin of the surname including reference to the Cornish word "kûm-ber" which means little valley.
