[8766] The Perry County Democrat, 4 Dec 1918, p. 3: Samuel Baughman, of near Loysville, died at his home on Saturday night, about 12 o'clock from influenza after an illness of two weeks. His wife was also ill at the same time and was confined to bed. He was aged 32 years, 2 months and 9 days. Mr. Baughman was the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Baughman, of Saville township. He was a farmer by occupation and was successful in his line of work being industrious and thrifty. His untimely death is mourned by a host of neighbors and friends, On October 7, 1005, he married Miss Anna Fuller, who with six children survive him. His parents and four sisters and four brothers also survive.

A graduate of Mattanawcook Academy, 1945, he began working for the US Postal Service before graduation and retired more than 40 years later having worked in Lincoln for 37 years, Bangor and Millinocket. Harold and Joyce celebrated their 71st Anniversary in June 2020. Harold was an active member of Lincoln's First Congregational Church, Congo Men's Club, and Annual Riverdrivers' Supper. He was a member of Horeb Lodge #92 AF&AM, Northern Penobscot Shrine Club, Scottish Rite Bodies, and Anah Temple Shrine. Civic-minded, he was a member of the Lincoln Jaycees, served as Chairman of the Lincoln Appeals Board and on the Cemetery Committee. Harold was an Amateur Radio Ham Operator, WAIYZY. He and Joyce enjoyed Square Dancing (Barney's Bunch) and he was in the Lincoln Community Band. Members of Holiday Rambler Recreational Vehicle Club, HoRaMe Chapter #33, and Tampa Bay Ramblers #353, the couple traveled extensively throughout the US and Canada. Harold maintained a garden and was a talented carpenter. As a family, they enjoyed snowmobiling and their lot on Combolassee Pond. Harold is survived by his wife of 71 years, children Dorothy Harding, Betty Keller (John Bennett), Holly McCafferty (Tim Buck) and Stephen Harding (Lisa), six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and others who considered him 'Papa'; brother-in-law Elliott Potter (Bonnie); nieces, nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his parents; sisters Eunice Sibley and Ann Jones; brothers-in-law Arnold H. Sibley and Billy R. Jones, his daughter's partner Cecile Pelletier, and a great-grandson."
