Margaret was a legal secretary to the late Superior Court Justice, William S. Silsby Sr. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Ellsworth, past chaplain of the Ramassoc DAR Chapter, member of the Hancock County Womens Republican Club, trustee, emeritus, of the Black House (Woodlawn Museum), member of the Ellsworth Historical Society and a volunteer at the Maine Coast Memorial Hospital. She is survived by nephews, Charles D. Marshall and wife, Mary, of Franklin and Jonathan E. Marshall and wife, Patricia, of Ellsworth; several grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Marion C. Marshall, and niece, Barbara M. Goodyear."

She is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Farnsworth of Beddington, Mrs. Bertha Strout of Cherrylield, Mrs. Esther Bartman of East Haddam, Conn., Mrs Mildred Calhoun of Winn, Mrs. Jessie Torrey and Mrs. Janice MacLean both of Cherryfield; four sons, Ray of Cherryfield, Philip of Lewiston, James, Jr. of Cherrylield and Alvah of Hampden Highlands; one sister, Mrs. Mildred Conners of Milbridge; 29 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her oldest son, Earle ond her youngest son, Kenneth."
