Glenn is son of William Franklin Mowry and Jennie E. Simms. The following unconnected Mowry information was shared via Internet, 11/97:
The only documentation I have is "family" information I am now in the process of trying to confirm. According to a "Mowry Family Tree" Edgar Mowry is the son of Jeremiah Mowry and Louvina Doubt. The "Mowry Family Tree" has Edgar's wife as Clara Mumis, perhaps misread or misremembered. The children are listed as Gilda, Clifford, and Stanley. The earliest Mowry ancestor I know is Henry Mowry d. 1852 in Wayne County, Ohio m. Charlotte Jyers b. 1787, in or near Baltimore, Maryland --d.15 Feb 1877, Salt Creek Township, Wayne County, Ohio (confirmed with death record) Their son Charles Mowry m (1) Martha, and Jeremiah Mowry was one of three children by this marriage.
Jeremiah Mowry
b. 2 May 1838 -- d.23 Apr 1897
m.1.Mary Elizabeth Johnson b.17 Jan 1838 --d.11 Jul 1891
children: Belle Mowry (m. Herbert Houghtaling), Mattie Mowry (m.Charles Fisher)
m.2.Louvina Doubt.
child: Edgar Mowry -- I don't know the places these events occurred, or where Charles Mowry was born. The earliest place of residence of the Henry Mowry family was Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, around 1829. They were in Wayne County, Ohio by 1850. Some parts of the family moved to St. Joseph County Michigan around 1880, some may have moved there before that time.

Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home, where Masonic services will be held at 8:30 p.m. Mr. Mowry was born May 12, 1892 in Mansfield, where he had lived all his life. He died Friday morning in Mansfield General Hospital following a brief illness. He was a retired employee of Crose Auto Parts. He was a member of the First English Lutheran Church, where he was active in the Friendly Fridays program. He was also a member of the Venus Lodge 152, F & AM, Al Koran Shrine in Cleveland, Scottish Rite Valley of Canton, Retmen's Club and AARP. Surviving are one daughter, Anna Mae Sziraki of Mansfield; one granddaughter, and one great-granddaughter."
