He died on 30 December 1993, in Bangor, Penobscot, Maine, United States, at the age of 87, and was buried in Houlton, Aroostook, Maine, United States." That was the beginning of a distinguished career. By the year 1940 he was appointed Chief Engineer of the railroad. This was followed by promotions to General Manager (1953), Executive Vice President (1965), President (1962), and finally chairman of the Board (1971). He retired in 1971. He moved to Houlton in 1931 when he first went to work for the railroad. He moved to Bangor in 1952."

Wallace of Milbridge; the granddaughters, Mrs. Charles Morrison of Worcester, Mass., Mrs. Vincent J. Kirby of Washington, D.C., and Betty Wallace of Milbridge.
