[28825] Owen's obituary: "ORLAND - Owen L. Gray, Sr., 83, passed peacefully at his home in Orland on March 22, 2002. He was born June 17, 1918 in Orland, the son of Alvertie E. and Carrie L. (Grey) Gray, Sr. Owen served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from St. Regis Paper Co. in Bucksport, after 35 years of service. Mr. Gray was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Bucksmills Rod & Gun Club, and the Rising Sun Lodge No. 71 AF & AM of Orland. Owen loved to take rides in his car around the state with his family. He is survived by his companion, Kathleen Simpson of Orland; four sons, Owen L. "Bud" Gray Jr. and his wife, Sherry of Orland, Robert A. Gray and his wife, Cathy of Eureka, Fla., Arthur J. Gray and his wife, Edythe of Orland, and Kenneth O. Gray and his wife, Sheila of Carmel; three brothers, Foster Gray and his wife, Irene of Dedham, Alvertie Gray Jr. and his wife, Carol of Bucksport, and Lloyd Gray and his wife, Roberta of Augusta; three sisters, Iona Elmore of Lafayette, Ind., Lora Donnell of Bucksport, and Mildred Miller of Dedham; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Clara (Henderson) Gray in 1988; his twin brother Olin; his sister Erma Patten; and three brothers, Marshall, Norman, and Kenneth. Visiting hours for family and friends will be held 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2002, with Pastor Peter Remick officiating. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Bucksport."

She was born March 28, 1914, in Greenville, the daughter of George and Bernice (Parke) McEachern. She attended and graduated from Greenville schools and was a lifelong resident of the Greenville area. She was a member of the Lakeside Rebekahs and the Eastern Star. She was a member of the Methodist Church for more than 60 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and much more to her whole family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband; one son, Terrance E. Dunbar of Millinocket; one daughter, Marilyn B. King of Greenville; six grandchildren, Terri S. Brewster, Holly F. Humphrey, Byron E. Dunbar, Weldon C. King Jr., Torri'Anne E. Stone and Maria K. Avery; nine great-grandchildren, two brothers, Allyn and Clinton McEachern; three sisters, Phyllis Vickery, Mary McAffee and Joyce Brown; one aunt, Isabelle Ryder; many nieces, nephews and cousins, special extended family, Trina Mercier, Sherry Taylor and Dennis Vickery. She was predeceased by two brothers, Donald and George McEachern and one sister, Beth Botzko. A private family service will be held. Burial will follow the service at the family lot in Greenville cemetery."
