[47258] Find A Grave Memorial 195735636 offers Alton's obituary: "Alton 'Al' W. Faber, 91, of Mansfield, passed away Wednesday evening, June 3, 2015, at Country Meadows Care Center. He was born April 24, 1924, in Ashland, Ohio, to the late Eugene and Florence (Simms) Faber. Al was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy as a pilot. He loved flying in the Navy and was able to take part in a Honor Flight from Columbus last summer. His patriotism remained throughout his life and he lived the Navy motto of 'Honor, Courage and Commitment' every day of his life. Al retired from Progressive Insurance, where he worked as a claims adjuster. Not one to sit still, he then went to work at Osgar's Body Shop for almost 20 years, retiring at the age of 86. He also owned and operated a small business selling farming equipment and was a mechanic for several years in his early life. In short, Al could fix anything, and took great pride in doing the job right the first time. He was a member of Amvets Post #26 and the Mansfield Aviation Club. Al married the love of his life, Dolores 'Dee' Harrod and they recently celebrated 40 years of marriage. He was a devoted husband and father and set a wonderful example of what being a 'man' really means. He is survived by his loving wife, Dee Faber; two children, Vicki (Larry) Rose and Greg (Colleen) Faber; three step children, Shelley Hollingsworth, Jamie Voetsch and Tim Frakes; five grandchildren, Tammy, Mike, Wendy, Alexandra and Jessica; seven step grandchildren, Jaysen, Kimberly, Nathan, Stephenie, Kellan, Cory, and Brooke; eighteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandsons; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Mitzi. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Eugene Hollingsworth; and sister, Betty Loudon."
