[61566] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 30 August 2022: "Presque Isle, Maine - Ethel E. Condon left this earth on August 28, 2022. Born to Hilda and Vernon Ireland on July 12, 1927, Ethel lived a long and wonderful life. A child of the Great Depression and a young woman during WWII, Ethel married Dee Condon in 1948, when he returned from the war. Together they began Condon's candies with Ethel working in the candy shop for decades. Religion was important to Ethel and she was a woman who lived her faith. She attended Bethany Baptist Church and humbly served the church's missions from baking food baskets for people who enjoyed her friendly face and her wonderful baked goods. She was the best cook. Known as Mom, Gram, Nana and Great Grammy, Ethel is survived by her sons, Terry Condon and wife, Jeannette, Steve Condon and wife, Rebecca; daughter Marcia Graves and husband, Jon. Ethel's nine grandchildren, Meaghen Kenney, Jacob Condon, Kim Lane, Miranda Jordan, Kate Mahar, Shalyn Sargent, Chelsey Regan, Taylor Graves and Riley LaPointe were spoiled by her love, her milkshakes and Ethel's famous chocolate chip cookies which she made and distributed to others by the thousands. Ethel is also survived by great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Max and Ella Kenney, Lily and Sawyer Regan, Brinley and Colby Sargent, Charlie, Tilly and Mary Lane, Stevie, Lola and Landon Jordan, Weston and Sylvie LaPointe. In her final years, Ethel lived with Marcia and Jon where she enjoyed the 'kids' and continued making cookies. She leaves a family that feels blessed to have had her in their lives and they are at peace knowing that she will finally be with Dee in heaven."
