Dates and family are from http://www.bcooper.aaahosting.net/dat71.html in 2003 which reports James is son of Patrick Bruce (b. 1600 Sterlinghaus, Scotland, d. 1670) and Janet Jackson (b. 1606) - and gives further children of James. Patricia Kuhn (pattik3764@hotmail.com) shared via email in July, 2003: "...we do seem to have a link with James Bruce! Except that he was christened 13 Feb 1632 in Banff, Scotland. I found the christening notation during a search through some old parish records online. He married somewhere about 1655 in Aberdeen, Scotland and died about 1700 in Aberdeen. His father was Patrick Bruce born about 1600 in Sterlinghouse, Scotland, and died aft 1670. Patrick's father I'm a little unsure of, but during my search I keep getting linked to Alexander Bruce and Isbell Crowe. But, again, I haven't been able to verify that with any records. If Alexander was Patrick's father, he was christened 13 Apr 1581 at St. Nichols, Aberdeen, Scotland. You can find James Bruce christening records in the Banff Parish records #147/00 0001. James had 1 brother: Valter (b: 1629), and 1 sister: Isabella (b: abt. 1632), both also christened at the Banff Parish."
