[19975] Emma renamed herself "Emily." The information about her ancestry is from Col. E. G. Piper's papers. Her children were born in the family home on Vine Street in Orrville, OH. Her great-granddaughter, Patricia Ann, has the lapel watch with her initials engraved on it, EBP. The "Orrville Crescent" newspaper 22 August 1871 (Vol. 5, No. 31), p. 3: "The Orrville Cornet Band, accompanied by the wives of the members, were present at the residence of Mr. Charles Boydston, in East Union, on the occasion of the wedding of Mr. Jonathan Peiper and Miss Emma Boydston, on last Thursday evening. At about five o'clock the band made their appearance with their new band wagon, (and a very nice one it is,) played several pieces on our streets and started on their way to the place where the marital rites were to be administered. Arriving at an early hour they enjoyed themselves hugely, and were highly pleased with the sumptuous repast that was spread before them, and the generous treatment they received. They returned home along toward the mid' hour of night, wishing the newly married couple every happiness imaginable and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Boydston many a happy year yet before them, and many a blithesome occasion to cheer them on the downward course of life." Her grave marker, beside her husband, in Wichita, KS gives her dates and her maiden name.

[11501] "The solemn and final union of Brittany with France was the result of the marriage of Francis I to Claudia of France, daughter of Anne of Brittany and Louis XII." - http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/12771b.htm in 2003. http://www.guide2womenleaders.com offers: "Eldest daughter of King Louis XII of France and successor of her mother Anne as Duchess of Brittany. The same year she married her cousin, who because of the French salic law succeeded her father as king François I. In 1532 the personal union of France with Brittany was made definitive. Their oldest son became duke and was succeeded by his brother, François in 1536. Her life was spent in an endless round of annual pregnancies. Her husband had many mistresses but was usually relatively discreet. She imposed a strict moral code on her household, which only a few like her lady-in-waiting Mary Boleyn chose to flout. Another lady-in-waiting was Anne Boleyn, who later married Henry VIII of England. Claude was short in stature and afflicted with scoliosis that gave her a small hunched back. She was mother of 7 children, among other King Henri III, Duchess Marguerite de Valois de Berry, and Queen Madeleine of Scotland . . . ."

[60840] Richard served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
[37867] The person is from an unverified file in Ancestry.com in 2014.
[40637] John served as a Patriot in the War for Independence. He is son of John Keller (1733 - 1792) and Maria Margaret Drach (1736 - 1797) Ancestry.com offers: "Keller Name Meaning - German: from Middle High German kellaere 'cellarman', 'cellar master' (Latin cellarius, denoting the keeper of the cella 'store chamber', 'pantry'). Hence an occupational name for the overseer of the stores, accounts, or household in general in, for example, a monastery or castle. Kellers were important as trusted stewards in a great household, and in some cases were promoted to ministerial rank. The surname is widespread throughout central Europe. English: either an occupational name for a maker of caps or cauls, from Middle English kellere, or an occupational name for an executioner, from Old English cwellere."
