[268] Pennsylvania records give John Jacob Ritzman's wife as Eva Maria. This could be a "familiar" name or a contraction of Eva Margaretha. Eva Margaretha is daughter of Georg [sic] Krieger per marriage record. She m. (2) 30 May 1756 Peter Muench (widower; he m. [1] 1724 in Germany to Christina Oster; he d. 1766) - they married at Rehrersburg and had no children; his surname became Minnich. See http://home.earthlink.net/~remlinr/kriegch3.htm for the Krieger family (4/2002). Ancestry.com suggests the meaning of the surname: "Swiss German, German, and Dutch: occupational name for a mercenary soldier, Middle High German krieger (possibly from Late Latin (miles) gregarius common soldier, from grex herd, flock, crowd)"

[44085] An unverified Rootsweb file by Richad Hodgson offers re: Thomas Sibbald: Witnessed charter in 1371. Probable builder of Balgonie Castle. The Sibbalds were probably descended from Sybaldi, who flourished in the middle of the 12th century. Sir Duncan Sibbald was living in Balgonie before 1246 (he is later mentioned in a Papal Bull of 1250). The Great Tower of Balgonie Castle was built for Sir Thomas Sibbald of Balgonie, Lord High Treasurer of Scotland, about 1360. His wife is reported to be Sarah Nee (b. 1386 in Fifeshire).
