[35678] Name and information are from the unverified Sunseri tree in Ancestry.com in 2013 which states he and Nathaniel Bieber built the first hotel in Bieber, CA, after which Lewis moved to a ranch on the west side of the valley and that he ws a member of the IOOF Millville Lodge # 141. His obituary: "Died Ono, Shasta county, California, December 3rd, 1891 Lewis Powers, a native of Ohio, aged 55 years. He leaves a loving wife and eight children to mourn his loss, viz; Mrs. Clara Florin, Mrs. Emma Heaton, Miss Mary Powers, Raymond Powers, Molton, Charlie, Gussie, Lolie Powers. Mrs. Powers looses A devoted husband, and the children a loving father. Little did we think that our loved friend was so near the end of life's journey. He was a man of unusual loveliness of character and presence. He was the light and comfort of his home and a large circle of friends. His affection for his family was the truest. His funeral services were preached in the Methodist Church, and at the grave, by Rev. Mr. Neil his remains were laid to rest in the Ono cemetery."
