[3284] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 2 December 2008: "Amherst - Earle E. Frost, 86, husband of Elizabeth (Archer) Frost, died Nov. 28, 2008, at a Bangor hospital, after a brief illness. He was born July 1, 1922, in Mariaville, the son of Elwood and Flora (Edgecomb) Frost. Earle had many happy stories about his childhood growing up in Mariaville with his nine siblings. He married Elizabeth Archer, Sept. 28, 1946. He started his 70-year career as a professional driver with Moore's Motor Express at the age of 16. He spent two years in the U.S. Army driving a tank across Europe and was at the Battle of the Bulge. Earle spent 19 years at Campbell & Williams Mill and then worked 26 years at F.W. Beal and Dead River Co., retiring at age 68, only because he needed both hips replaced. At age 69 he obtained his school bus driver's license and went to drive for SAD 63, Airline Community School, finishing his last run Nov. 10, 2008. He spent 11 summers driving the Island Explorer Bus, loving every minute of it. He is survived by his wife of Amherst; his son, Gary Frost and his wife, Sally; grandchildren, Adam Frost, and Carrie and her husband, Jonsey McCann; great-granddaughter, Adala McCann; sisters, Alta Tate, Evelyn and her husband, Gordon Durham, and Corace and her husband, Sterling Bunker; brothers, Maurice Frost and his wife, Elaine, and Clyde Frost and his companion, Maxine Crosby; many nieces and nephews.
