[43103] Martha's obituary: "Mrs. Martha Ellen Ritzman passed away Feb 24 [1952] at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Bartram, 1631 Euclid Street, NW, Washington, DC, after an illness of two weeks. Mrs. Ritzman, Daughter of Hugh Laird and Jane Hench McMeen, was born on May 11, 1853. She came to North Dakota with her husband George R. Ritzman, and family of six children in March 1896, and settled near Churchs Ferry, where another daughter was born. They lived there for six years, then homesteaded near what is now Wolford, amidst a settlement of friends and relatives from Juniata County, Penn. Here in spite of hardships of the early pioneering days, her valiant spirit and bravery enabled her to carry on the family traditions and establish a social life much as she had enjoyed in her home stat, helping neighbors in sickness and distress and leading in church work. Mr. Ritzman passed away in 1908 and Mrs. Ritzman continued there with her family until disposal of the family home about 1912. She then made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Della M. Wardrope, and son-in-law, the late Victor Wardrope, in Leeds where she lived for several years. In 1927, she went to live with her daughter in Washington DC. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Della M. Wardrope of Bismark; Mrs. A. J. Bartram [Eleanor], Washington D.C., Mrs. Ruth M. Wharton, Portland, Ore.; and Mrs. H. J. Henretta [Maude], Minneapolis; and two sons, Mr. William H. Ritzman, Lewistown, Penna.; and Mr. Thurman G. Ritzman, Burbank, Calif. Her eldest daughter, Miss Emma J. Ritzman, passed away in 1945. She is also survived by 21 grand-children and 38 great grandchildren. [RootsWeb file, Kohler Klan and Kissin Kin - Ray Kohler]"

[61038] Robert's obituary: "Clearwater, Fla. - Robert P. 'Bob' Shaw, 76, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2014, at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater. He was born in Dexter, Maine, on November 28, 1937, the son of Leroy F. 'Roy' and Beryl (Palmer) Shaw. He graduated from Unity High School in 1956. He was a local and long-haul trucker. He had worked for Midcoast West, Quinn Freightlines and Pottles Transportation; and he worked for himself for quite a few years. He used to do truck pulls at Unity Raceway, Wiscasset and Speedway 95, which he owned part of at one point in his life. He was a friend to the Craven family and watched a young Ricky Craven move up from the local trucks to racing in NASCAR. He sure loved car racing. Dad had visited every state except Hawaii. He spent five summers in Alaska, working at campgrounds and fishing. When in Florida, he liked to bowl. He was in the 300 club 3 times. He was a friend of Bill W. for 39 years. He was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by five children, Carol Shaw of Oakland, Michael Shaw of Waterville, Rhonda Flagg and her husband, Darryl, of Jefferson, Robin Shaw of South China and Joyce Edgecomb and her husband, Dane, of Appleton; 9 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Richard L. 'Dick' Shaw and his wife, Jane, of Machias; and his longtime friend, Frank Tozier Sr. of Florida and Maine."
