[5237] David is first child of his mother, identified by an Internet correspondent (but not verified) as Anna Margaretha Ullrich, 1694-1722); she and Stephan also had (per this correspondent) Hans Wendel Brecht (b. ca. 1721, d. ca. 1785, m. Mary Elizabeth Martin). The correspondent lists five children by the second wife, Veronica Traxeta: George Adam (ca. 1731), Eva Margareta (ca. 1733), Catrina (ca. 1735), Elizabeth (1738) and Anna Maria (1745). http://www.berks.pa-roots.com/books/montgomery/b20.html offers: "David Brecht, son of Stephen, was born Sept. 8, 1719. He was a resident of Bern (now Penn) township long before the organization of the county in 1752. He was the owner of valuable land near Bernville and exercised no small influence among the people of his neighborhood. In 1771 he was elected county commissioner, and served as such until 1774. By his will on file in the Register's office, after providing for his wife Sarah, and the slave to whom he had given freedom, he devises to his only son John his large plantation of 500 acres. He also gives to each of his seven daughters the sum of 900 pounds, which was almost a fortune in that early day. This amount was, however, to be paid by his son John, in part, as well as a copper kettle to each sister. Sarah, wife of David Brecht, was born Jan. 8, 1727, and died Jan. 22, 1798. They were the parents of eleven children, three of whom died in infancy or childhood. The names of those reaching mature years were: John; Margaret m. Philip Himmelberger; Elizabeth m. Jacob Strauss; Catharine m. Philip Adam Riegel; Barbara m. John Michael Geiss; Susanna m. John Wenrich; Magdalena and Sarah. David Brecht and wife, as also their son John and his wife are buried in the private burial ground on the original Bright farm. The inscriptions are difficult to read after the action of the elements upon the sandstones. [788] Blanche m. (2) Edmund Plantagenet, 10-29-1276, thought by some to be father of Jeanne or Joanna, Queen of Navarre (ID823). http://www.guide2womenleaders.com offers: "After the death of her husband Henri I (1270-74), she was regent for daughter Juana I, and various powers, both foreign and from Navarra, sought to take advantage of the minority of the heiress and the weakness of the female regent. She left the administration of Navarra to King Philippe III of England after her marriage to Edmund Crouchback, 1st Earl of Lancaster (1245-1296), brother of Edward I of England, and they administered Champagne until Juana came of age in 1284. She was the daughter of count Robert I of Artois, and the granddaughter of Louis VIII of France, mother of four children with her second husband. . . ." [36814] This person is from the unverified Roberts/Ish Family Tree in Ancestry.com in 2014 which states Charles is son of Charles Young (b. 1744 in Ireland, d. 1808 in PA). Find A Grave memorial 12587766 offers: He was first drafted into the Pennsylvania milita in the fall of 1777 and "made a tour of 3 months". He volunteered in the summer of 1779 and "went to the relief of Hannah's Town in Montgomery" for one month and 17 days. He was drafted again in the spring of 1780 to "guard the magagzine on the Youghiogheny River" for one month. He volunteered two more months until "the military stores were removed to Pittsburgh". After the war, he served from the spring to fall of 1790 in Georgia and was present at the signing of the Treaty of Shoulderbone, which probably is the one with the Creek Indians. He said he served 9 months for 3 years in succession, as a ranger on the Ohio River. He moved to Holmes county, Ohio by 1830 where he applied for a pension in 1832. He was living in Monroe Twp., Richland county, Ohio in 1840 when he died."
