[57607] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine], 7 October 2024: "Lakeland, FL - Anita Mountain passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2024. She was born in Stacyville, Maine, on July 29, 1936, the daughter of John and Pearle Elwell. She grew up in Sherman, Maine, married Sam Mountain in July of 1955, and they moved around in Maine, then Massachusetts, then Kansas, then Hawaii, finally settling in Florida. During her career Anita taught school, worked in purchasing, and retired as the Purchasing Director for USF. Anita was a calm, gentle, compassionate matriarch of her large family. Always available and willing to support. Family was the most important thing to her throughout her life. She made time to be at the births of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She made handmade birth announcements for them as well as baking her famous homemade ice cream cakes for their birthdays. Anita loved attending the family reunions in Beals Island, Ashland, and Florida where she visited with extended family and had a kind word for them all. She traveled the world including Germany, Italy, Denmark, Alaska, Panama Canal, Bahamas and Norway. Anita is survived by her husband of 69+ years, Sam; brother, Pat and his wife, Pam; in-laws, Lillian and Larry, Evelyn and Gary, and Charlie; four children, Carol, John, Dale and wife Ordalis, and Joel and wife, Tammy; seven grandchildren, Kristi, Charlie, Matt, Stephen, Jaclyn, Ani, and Ssammy; and 17 great-grandchildren, Conor, Kallan, Cayman, Kroix, Brayden, Keely, Kina, Seth, Ethan, Ashton, Skyler, Anais, Mikael, Cadience, Zakary, Jacob, Charley. Anita was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Susie; sister, Marilyn; brothers, Keith and Bob; brothers-in-law, Reggie, Bobby, and Gene; and sisters-in-law, Pat and Molly. Anita loved travel and the warmer weather in Florida, but Maine was always home."

Wade, 78, a native of Stephenson county, passed away at a local hospital yesterday afternoon, where he had been a patient for the past three weeks. Funeral services will be held at the Eichmeier & Becker funeral home, West Stephenson street, at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon. Rev. J. M. Beck, Davis, will conduct the services and interment will be made in Dakota cemetery. Mr. Wade was born Nov. 11, 1864, in Lancaster township, the son of Daniel and Anna Wade. He was united in marriage to Mary Ritzman, Dec. 10, 1891. The wife died July 23, 1936. A daughter passed away Nov. 16, 1901. He was engaged in farming In Lancaster township for many years. Surviving are two sisters, Miss Sarah E. Wade, Freeport; Mrs. Carrie Meyers, Scioto Mills; and a brother, Esrom Wade, Sterling, Ill. He was a member of Embury Methodist church."
