[31673] See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clotilde_(died_531) which reports "In 511 she was married to the Visigothic King Amalaric. Clotilde was a Catholic, while Amalaric and his fellow-Visigoths were Arians. Clotilde refused to adopt her husband's religious practices and complained to her kin that she was persecuted for her faith. This led to war in 531 between her brother, King Childebert I, and her husband. Amalaric was defeated and Clotilde returned to Francia with the Frankish army, but died on the journey and was buried at Paris"

[12903] Jessie was adopted in Lynn, MA by her aunt, Edith A. Hutchins, after her mother died, In 1910 and 1920 she was in Brooksville, ME according to the census.
[42174] "The Perry County Democrat [Bloomfield, PA], 9 June 1909," p. 3: "Col. Alexander K. McClure, for many years a prominent figure in politics and journalism, died Sunday at his home in Walllngrord, Delaware county, aged 81 years, he had been suffering from infirmities due to his advanced years for some time and Sunday was the first time in more than a week that he felt able to leave his room. In company with his brother-in-law, Alfred Gratz, he sat on the porch of his home for a short time Sunday afternoon. Feeling himself growing weaker he asked to be assisted to a lounge in the parlor and he died a few minutes after he had been assisted into the house. Alexander Kelly McClure was a son of Alexander and Isabella (Anderson) McClure, and was born on his father's farm, the George Hench property at Centre, Madison township, this county, January 9, 1828. Here his youth was passed and all the schooling he got was limited to the brief sessions of a country school, with the exception of a short time when he attended tbe Bloomfield Academy. When fifteen years of age he became an apprentice to James Marshall, in this place, to learn the trade of tanning. His leisure time was spent in the office of the old Perry Freeman, and he soon developed a taste for politics and began writing articles for that paper. The late Judge Baker, recognizing his ability as a writer, recommended him for the position of editor of the Juniata Sentinel, published at Mifflintown, and from 1846 to 1850 be edited that paper. He then bought a half interest in the Franklin Repository, of Chambersburg, and by his forceful editorials and effective speeches soon became a power In State politics. In 1853 he was nominated for Auditor General by the Whigs but was defeated. He studied law in Chambersburg and was admitted to the Franklin county bar in 1856. His rise to prominence was rapid and he held several appointments under the administrations of Governors Curtin and Pollock. He was a delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1856 which nominated John C. Fremont for the Presidency. In 1857 and 1858 he was elected to the State Legislature and in 1859 was elected State Senator. He was Chairman of the Republican State Committee in 1860. A member of the Republican conven tion which nominated Lincoln in 1860, Col. McClure was the only one who suggested that the Pennsylvania delegates should break away from Simon Cameron, of Pennsylvania, and vote for Lincoln. This was done and Lincoln's name stampeded tbe convention. When the Civil War broke out Col. McClure was a leader in the State Senate and urged vigorous measures. He was chairman of the Committee on Military Affairs and was closely identified with the war policy of Governor Curtin. He formed close relations with President Lincoln and his Cabinet and took a prominent part in national politics. As Adjutant General he superintended the drafting of Pennsylvania 'A' troop. Col. McClure went to Philadelphia more than fifty years ago, where for a time he practiced law. In 1872 he was elected to the State Senate as an Independent. In 1873 he was defeated for the office of Mayor of Philadelphia by a small majority after a bitter contest. With the late Frank McLaughlin he established 'The Times,' and for years wielded a trenchant editorial pen. One of his greatest battles was a crusade against the 'Dandy Mayor,' William B. Smith. His bitter attacks upon Mayor Smith's administration caused the latter to bring suit for libel against the Times. Smith was given a verdict of nearly $50,000. After advancing years had caused him to give up his editorial labors, he busied himself with writing his reminiscences and revising several of his earlier works. In 1903 he was appointed Prothonotary of the Supreme and Superior Courts of the State. He was for many years president of the Clover Club. Col. McClure was a cousin of Mrs. Charles A. Barnett, of this place." [See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_McClure. ]
