He was born July 31, 1933, in Searsport, son of Kenneth C. and Alice M. (Gray) Kinnney. He was born again Jan. 1, 1967, and lived for the Lord for 39 years. Max came from nothing and God helped he and his wife, Iva during their life. Max completed his high school diploma in 1981. He was a more than 30-year member of Gideons International, which places Bibles in hotels and motels. Max lived for five years in Connecticut and became a Class A caster in a brass foundry, Plum & Atwood. Max was a member of the SAD 56 School Board and Region 7 Vocational Center. He was a Master Electrician, a journeyman oil burner and he had a CDL with Hazmat. He owned and operated Kinney's Mobile Home Park and Kinney's Construction and also worked for Northern Chemical, Sprague Energy and was an engineer on the Mary E. Holmes and captained his own Queen Bee boat. He served as Trustee of the Water District, was president of Mt. Hope Cemetery, a board member of Camp Fair Haven and was a Promise Keeper. Max is survived by his wife of 55 years, Iva (Littlefield) Kinney of Searsport; his children, Kenneth M. Kinney, Deloris I. Merithew and husband, Anthony, Kathreen A. Ward and husband, Douglas, Barbara M. White and husband, Timothy, Allen B. Kinney, Max R. Kinney and his wife, Linda; his brothers, Clinton Kinney and his wife, Margaret of Gardner, Albert Kinney and his wife, Gertrude of Belfast, David Kinney and his wife, Doris of Belfast; 20 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
