[36654] This person is from an unverified tree in Ancestry.com in 2014 which offers: "Samuel moved from Paignton to Berry Pomeroy shortly after his first child David was born. They probably stayed there until they emigrated to America with their 6 children. With the issuance of a new prayer book by the High Church Scotland and the Pilgrims of England wanted to leave their homes and get away from High Church domination. Samuel and his family arrived in Roxbury Mass. in 1638. In 1641,they moved to Boston. Samuel took the freemans oath in Boston 22 Jun 1641. They then moved to Springfield,Mass. after the birth of their 9th child Japhet. Samuel and John Pynchon, the fur trader, knew each other in England and he led a group of Pilgrims, including the Chapin Family, to Springfield. Deacon Samuel was one of the founders of the 'Old First Parish Church' and he served as deacon. They lived in peace and carried on a mutual advantageous trade in corn, skins, and general produce for 40 years. Then King Philips war began and many settlers and indians were killed."

The 'Alexeiad' names 'a certain Hugh, brother of the king of France' when recording that he 'sent an absurd message to the emperor proposing that he should be given a magnificent reception' after arriving in Constantinople. He set out again Mar 1101, but died from wounds received fighting the Greeks at Tarsus in Cilicia. - m (after 1067) as her first husband, Adelais Ctss de Vermandois, de Valois et de Crépy, daughter and heiress of Heribert IV Comte de Vermandois [Carolingian] & his wife Alix Ctss de Crépy ([1062]-28 Sep [1120/24]). The 'De Genere Comitum Flandrensium, Notæ Parisienses' names 'Odonem et Adelam sororem' as the two children of 'comes Herbertus', specifying that the husband of Adela was 'Hugoni le Magne', referring to her second husband 'comes de Claromonte' and specifying that her daughter by the latter married Charles Count of Flanders. The 'Genealogiæ Scriptoris Fusniacensis' names 'Adelidem comitissam Viromandensium, defuncto priore viro, scilicet Hugone Magno' as wife of 'comes Rainaldus [de Claromonte]'. She succeeded her father in [1080] as Ctss de Vermandois, de Valois et de Crépy. She married secondly (1103) as his first wife, Renaud de Clermont [en-Beauvaisis]."
