[44215] The unverified Miller Family Tree in 2018 in Ancestry.com offers: John Rush was born on January 24, 1851. He married Edith Ellen Ferree and they had [at least] one daughter together. He also had one son from another relationship. He died on February 28, 1942, at the age of 91. "The Daily Item [Sunbury, PA], 2 March 1942," p. 2: "Body of John Rush, 91, of Elizabethville, object of a search since Friday night when he disappeared, was found hanging from a rafter of a small building of the Swab Wagon Company at Elizabethville Saturday afternoon. Dr. R. A. Barto, deputy Dauphin County coroner, said death was suicide which occurred approximately 18 hours before the body was found and that no motive for the act is known. The body was discovered by Harry Keiter, of Elizabethville, while Boy Scouts were searching the mountains near the town. Rush's son, H. E. Rush, Pennsylvania Railroad agent there, with whom the elder Mr. Rush resided, asked borough and State police to search for his father Friday night. Surviving are four children: H. E. Rush, with whom he lived; Mrs. Norman Miller, Berrysburg, Mrs. Sarah Carl and Mrs. Mary Smeltz, both of Spring Glen. Ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren also survive. Private funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Buffington funeral home at Elizabethville, with the Rev. A. L. Zechman, pastor of the Reformed Church there, officiating. Burial will be in Hoffman's Church cemetery, near Berrysburg."
