[12896] Wilbury was a brickmaker, and had 25 acres which were separated from his Uncle Ebenezer's farm opposite what is now Berzini's Garage in Penobscot (1997). He also owned mills on Leach's or Mill Creek. His sons Artemus and Ashur operated a brickyard in Orland, ME. He and Deborah had 13 children. Carleton graduated from Brewer High School (Penobscot Co., ME) in 1919 and Bates College in 1923. "The Mirror" (published by Bates College) in 1923 includes his photograph and "Carleton Leslie Walker, A.B. 'Tis not the tongue that makes the bell ring sweet, It is the metal of the bell itself.'
