Inq. p.m. vol.11, no 288]. Even if this age is incorrect, it is clear that John could not have been born before the late 1320s. He was certainly the son of Katherine, the daughter of John de Bures and his wife Hawise (Muscegros), as is clear from the descent of the manor of Boddington, Gloucestershire [Victoria County History, Gloucestershire, vol.8, p.190]. Katherine's age was variously given as 26 and more, 30 and more and 35 and more at the inquisitions taken after her father's death in 1351 [Cal. Inq. p.m., vol.9, no 578], but in any case she must have been born after the death of her mother's previous husband John de Ferrers, about August 1312 [Complete Peerage, vol.5, p.309]. According to Complete Peerage, vol.2, p.46, note f, Giles was married to Katherine in 1329; in this year, the manor of Boddington was settled on the couple [Victoria County History, Gloucestershire, vol.8, p.190, citing CP 25(1)/286/35/34]."

[11528] John I (of Castile and León), in Spanish, Juan I (1358-90), king of Castile and León (1379-90), the son of King Henry II, founder of the house of Trastamara. John attacked Portugal to defeat the schemes of John of Gaunt, duke of Lancaster and son of Edward III of England, who had assumed the title king of Castile, and of King Ferdinand I of Portugal. Ferdinand submitted in 1382 and made peace, giving his daughter to John in marriage. On Ferdinand's death in 1383, John again made war on Portugal, but was defeated at Aljubarrota in 1385 by King John I of Portugal. In 1386-87 he repulsed John of Gaunt's invasion of Spain and settled their differences by a treaty and by arranging the marriage of one of John of Gaunt's daughters to his son Henry, later King Henry III of Castile and León. [51898] "The Ellsworth American [Ellsworth, Maine], 17 January 2018": "Ellsworth - Eleanor Ruth (Lynch) Anderson passed away quietly at home on Jan. 9, 2018. She was the youngest daughter of Mildred (Hatch) and Joseph Lynch. She was born in Newark, N.J., but after her parents divorced her mother brought her children back to East Orland, where they lived next to her mothers brother, 'Uncle Roy.' Eleanor and her siblings attended grade school in East Orland and then went onto Bucksport High School. After graduation, 'Ellie' worked in Bangor and Ellsworth until she met her husband, George Anderson. They were married April 30, 1954, and together raised six children and helped to raise six grandchildren, as well as several neighbor children. Her main occupation in life was as a housewife and mother. After her children were all in school, she worked part time as an operator for AT&T followed by several years at The Union Trust Bank of Ellsworth. She was a lifelong member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, known today as Community of Christ. She loved and supported that community so much, as they did her. Ellie was predeceased by her parents, sisters Doris Judkins and Helen Gross, her husband George, a niece and several nephews. Ellie is survived by her brother Robert Lynch, wife, Dolores; her six children Kathleen; James; Stephen, wife, Antonia; Sheila, husband, Tim Kunzweiler; Mark, girlfriend Haley Harshaw; Cynthia and husband, Joe Zucchero. Six grandchildren Chelsea, husband, Clay Shanks; Alex Kunzweiler, wife, Amber; Sean Anderson, Rachel Kunzweiler, Sarah Zucchero and Christian Zucchero; one great-granddaughter Maggie Shanks; several nieces and nephews as well as loving and cherished friends."

[1635] AKA Donnchad mac Crínáin (Modern Gaelic: Donnchadh mac Crìonain) anglicised as Duncan I, and nicknamed An t-Ilgarach, "the Diseased" or "the Sick. Duncan married a daughter of Siward, Danish Earl of Northumbria (a Viking) and his first wife Elfleda of Northumbria; Siward, d. 1055, is son of Earl Berne of the Royal House of Denmark. Duncan succeeded his maternal grandfather, Malcolm II, in 1034 ("the first example of inheritance of the Scottish throne in the direct line"); previously he was King of Cumbria (ruling from Strathclyde){-Encycl. Brit., 1956, 7:736, 20:146}. He was slain by his own general, Macbeth. His male line ruled Scotland until the death of Alexander III in 1286.
