[47081] "The Daily Chronicle [DeKalb, Illinois], 4 October 1975," p. 2: "Floyd R. Ritzman, 90, 220 E. Hillcrest, died Friday, Oct. 3, 1975. at DeKalb Public Hospital. Mr. Ritzman was a DeKalb school official for many years. He was born April 30, 1885, in Orangeville. His parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. Oriah Ritzman. He and Eva L. Hight were married in Kankakee on June 27, 1906. Mrs. Ritzman is among survivors. Mr. Ritzman worked as a school teacher and was principal at Glidden and Haish Schools. He was superintendent of DeKalb schools and he served on the staff at Northern Illinois State Normal School. Survivors include five sons, Paul, Corte Madera, Calif.; Carl, Oakland, Calif.; Rolland, Dubuque, Iowa; Russell, Lincoln, Neb.; and Allyn, DeKalb; three daughters, Mrs. Jean McGillivray, Pompano Beach Fla.; Mrs. Webb (Janet) Stevens, Rockford; Mrs. Tom (Marilyn) Gentles, Camden, S.C.; 22 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother and one daughter. He was a member of the DeKalb Public Library Board, Kiwanis Club, and a charter member of Rotary Club."
