[49982] "The Ellsworth American [Ellsworth, Maine], 9 February 2022": "Gouldsboro - Adin S. Reed of Gouldsboro passed away at home surrounded by his family. Adin was born May 22, 1946, in Steuben. He is the son of Adin Reed Sr. and Anna (Beal) Reed. He attended grammar school in Steuben and went on to graduate from Sumner Memorial High School in 1965. Upon graduation, Adin went on to marry his wife of 55 years, Vincy. They made their home in Gouldsboro and started their family. Adin worked for AR Whitten of Winter Harbor from 1967 to 1977. He joined the Gouldsboro Fire Department in 1969 and continued to be a member for 30 years. He went on to work for the Civil Service at the Winter Harbor Naval Base from 1977 to 2004, when he retired. Adin enjoyed the local dances, camping, hunting, fishing and his large gardens. He was known as a jack of all trades from mechanics, truck driving, large machinery, sternman and a woodsman, where he cut and hauled from his land all of his own wood for winter up till fall of 2021. He also enjoyed sitting around his kitchen table with a hot cup of coffee and telling of the old days and his many stories to friends. Adin is survived by his wife, Vincy Reed, of Gouldsboro; daughters Brenda Daris and husband, Mike, of Gouldsboro and Laurie Reed of Gouldsboro; sister Madolyn Byers of Gouldsboro; granchildren Randy Grant, Michael Daris and Norman Daris, all of Gouldsboro, Regina Austin and husband, Benjamin, of Mariaville and Adin Young and girlfriend Tara Small of Cherryfield; great-grandchildren Destiny, William, Makayla, Evangeline, Ellie, Katherine, Bennet and Addie; and a special mother in-law, Addie, of Gouldsboro. He also leaves behind a mans best friend, Lizzie, who would never leave his side and enjoyed most of his dinners and walking by his side through the gardens. He was predeceased by his parents, Adin and Anna Reed, sister Charlotte Reed, son Randy Paul and close father in-law Paul Dyer and sisters-in-law Bonnie Dyer and Kathy Dyer."
